Do you know the dished head?
The dish-shaped head is a continuous curved surface. At the connection of the three parts, the radius of curvature of the warp changes abruptly. Due to the change of curvature, there is a bending stress. The result of the superposition of bending stress and tensile stress makes this part of the stress stand out from other parts. Compared with the elliptical head, the stress distribution is not as uniform as it is, but it is easier to process, so it is not ideal for engineering use. However, when the mold processing of the oval head is difficult, the dish head is used instead.
